MONTENEGRO CONQUERED!
Several members of the IPA Radom Region took part in a tourist and leisure trip to Montenegro. The organizer of the event - through the Travel Agency "Concordia" - was the Regional Board of Police Pensioners at Mazovia Provincial Police Trade Union.
We left Radom in the early morning, and the purpose of the first day of the trip was Budapest. We were taken around this beautiful city by a guide Veronika Piętek, who showed us great monuments. She also tried to teach us some Hungarian vocabulary and Hungarian dance - czardasz.
After dinner and overnight stay we went to the capital of Serbia - Belgrade, where we saw Serb married to a Pole - Daniel Metikos. He showed us an amazing city that rises from the destruction after the Balkan War in the 90s of the 20th century. He also introduced us to the history of Serbia and its struggle for liberation from Turkish bondage.
Another day is a journey through Serbia to Montenegro. So, we ride along the Tara River, whose breakthrough is deepest in Europe and one of the world's largest canyons. The views are truly breathtaking!
Finally, we reach the destination, the small, growing tourist town of Canj. After accommodation and night rest we happily swim in the sun and the Adriatic waters.
The next day we leave for Montenegro tour. We visit Budva - the most famous tourist destination, Cetnije - the historical capital of the Montenegrin state and beautiful, historic Kotor. Everywhere we admire the amazing views, we take a lot of beautiful pictures.
And again the lazing on the beach day, and the next day is a trip to Albania. We visit Shkodra with the largest mosque, which was built by three religions: Muslim, Orthodox and Catholic. Then Kruja - the capital of the Albanian tradition, where we visit the old bazaar, the ancient Skanderbeg fortress and we have the opportunity to taste traditional Albanian cuisine.
The next day is a trip to Lake Shkoderskie and a 2,5-hour boat trip across this largest lake of Montenegro, which is a natural border with Albania, which owns one third of its area. We also visit the Royal Beach, and the next day Stari Bar - ruins of uninhabited, walled city, with a rich history dating back to the Middle Ages.
We were taken around Montenegro, Albania and Stari Bar by a Pole living in Bar - Julia Berncik. She impressed us with incredible tales of this part of Europe.
Finally, the day of farewell to Montenegro comes. On the way back we visit the "pearl of the Adriatic" - Dubrovnik, whose old city was completely inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Ms Zuzanna Brusić, another Pole, accompanied us, telling fascinating stories and unusual facts from over 1,400 years of Dubrovnik existence.
On our way home we visited Medjugorje in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Balaton in Hungary and Banská Bystrica in Slovakia.
Despite the fatigue we returned full of tourist and social impressions.
